The grand opening of Universal’s Epic Universe on May 22, 2025, has ignited excitement among theme park enthusiasts and families alike. This $7 billion (I can’t even think in that dollar amount) addition to Universal Orlando Resort introduces five immersive worlds, each offering unique adventures and attractions.

Super Nintendo World
Fans of Mario and Donkey Kong can explore Super Nintendo World, which includes attractions like Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, an augmented reality racing simulator, and Mine-Cart Madness, a coaster based on Donkey Kong Country. Guests can also dine at Toadstool Cafe and collect digital coins with a Power-Up Band.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic
This area transports visitors to 1920s Paris and the 1990s British Ministry of Magic. The main attraction, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, is a dark ride featuring characters like Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Dolores Umbridge. Guests can also experience the theatrical show Le Cirque Arcanus.
How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk
Families can enjoy Viking and dragon-themed adventures, including animatronic dragons and water-based attractions. The area offers hearty Viking-inspired meals and immersive experiences based on the beloved film series.
Dark Universe
First-ever year-round horror theme park! This spooky realm features legendary monsters like Dracula and Frankenstein. Attractions include high-tech horror rides and gothic-themed dining options, providing thrills for fans of classic Universal Monsters.
Celestial Park
Serving as the central hub, Celestial Park features lush gardens, waterways, and the park’s fastest roller coaster, Stardust Racers—a dual-tracked launched coaster reaching speeds up to 62 mph. The area also boasts the Constellation Carousel and various dining options, including the underwater-themed Atlantic restaurant.
Super Nintendo World
To promote the park, Universal launched the Epic Universe Portal Tour, featuring a 30-foot-tall replica of the Chronos portal in major cities like New York, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Chicago. This activation offered fans a sneak peek into the park’s immersive storytelling and design.
